Tim Hortons Delivery

Four ways to get Tim Hortons delivered in Canada, and they are not equivalent. One earns rewards points and charges in-store menu prices; the other three usually do neither. Here is how each one actually charges you.

Delivery routes

Tims app, Uber Eats, DoorDash, Skip.

1

Earns points

Only the Tim Hortons app does.

Tim Hortons Delivery Services Compared

Fee amounts are set per restaurant and per order and change constantly, so this compares how each service charges rather than quoting a number that would be wrong by next week.

ServiceWhat you pay on topSmall ordersRewards points
Tims Delivery (in the app)
Tim Hortons app
Delivery fee + service fee Usually a small order minimum Yes — collects Tims Rewards points
Uber Eats
Uber Eats app or site
Delivery fee + service fee + possible small order fee Small order fee below a threshold No
DoorDash
DoorDash app or site
Delivery fee + service fee, reduced with DashPass DashPass waives fees over a threshold No
SkipTheDishes
Skip app or site
Delivery fee + service fee Varies by restaurant No

The rule of thumb: compare the same basket in two apps before you order. The menu price gap between in-app and third-party is routinely larger than the delivery fee everyone focuses on.

When Delivery Is Worth It

1

Group Orders

Fees are per delivery, not per item, so they shrink to nothing spread across an office run.

2

Cold Drinks and Baked Goods

These survive the trip. Iced Capps, Quenchers, donuts and muffins arrive as intended.

3

Already Subscribed

If DashPass or an equivalent is already paid for, the fee side of the comparison largely disappears.

4

Not for One Coffee

A $3.38 order can attract fees bigger than the food. That is the case for the drive thru.

Tim Hortons Delivery Questions

Does Tim Hortons deliver?

Yes, through four routes: Tims Delivery inside the Tim Hortons app, plus Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes. Coverage depends on your restaurant rather than the brand — not all of the 3,865 Canadian locations offer every service, and some offer none.

Which Tim Hortons delivery service is cheapest?

It depends on your order and your subscriptions, not on the service. Ordering in the Tims app is usually cheapest on menu price because the third-party apps commonly mark items up above in-store prices, and it is the only route that earns rewards points. DoorDash wins if you already pay for DashPass. Compare the same basket in two apps before deciding — the difference is often larger than the delivery fee.

Are Tim Hortons prices higher on delivery apps?

Usually yes. Third-party platforms let restaurants set a separate delivery menu price to cover commission, so the same item can cost noticeably more than the $1.59 or $1.79 you would pay standing at the counter. The prices on this site are in-restaurant prices.

Is there a minimum order for Tim Hortons delivery?

Effectively, yes. Most services apply a small order fee below a threshold rather than refusing the order outright, which means a $3.38 coffee and donut can arrive with fees larger than the food. Delivery makes sense on a group order and rarely on a single drink.

Can I earn Tims Rewards points on delivery?

Only through Tims Delivery in the Tim Hortons app. Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes orders do not touch your Tims account, so they collect nothing. Over a few months that gap is worth more than the fee difference for most people — see the rewards page.

Does coffee survive delivery?

Hot drinks travel worse than anything else on the menu, and a fifteen minute trip takes the edge off a fresh coffee. Iced Capps and cold drinks hold up better, as do the baked goods. If the coffee is the point of the order, the drive thru is the better call.

Can I use a Tims Card for delivery?

On Tims Delivery in the app, yes — the card balance is a payment method there. On the third-party apps, no: they take their own payment methods and cannot read a Tims Card. The Tims Card page covers what else the balance can do.
