1. Run one cycle with water only, no pod, to heat the machine. A cold machine brews the first cup cooler and weaker.
2. Use the small or medium setting rather than the large one. The pod holds a fixed amount of coffee, so a large cup is the same coffee with more water.
3. Brew, then let it stand 30 seconds before drinking — a Keurig cup comes out hot enough to flatten the taste.
4. Add cream and sugar afterwards if you want a double double.

Tips

Small setting, always. This is the single biggest difference between a good and a watery K-Cup, and most people run the large one by default.
